Welcome to GBCC

You're invited to share with us as we humbly seek to follow Him. "Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him" Ps. 107:31-32

Faith, hope and love expressed in worship, service and Christian living are the only answers to the problems and needs of the world, and are a true expression of the Church of the Living Christ. Our desire is to exalt our God and King through prayer, praise and worship, and that your faith will be increased, your love enhanced and your courage strengthened.

Loving My Neighbor

when I think of, "love my neighbor" several things come to mind.
- why
- how
- and we can throw in who, what, where and when

Jesus said the first command is to Love the Lord and the second is to love our neighbor. What does this mean? Why is it important? How can we love our neighbor and who is our neighbor? This may seem simple in concept, but put it into practice, practically and daily. I want to... I am commanded to and I know the right thing to do, but...

Lord teach us to love! Give us courage to love!

  1. Your neighor is the person right next to you. I met an elderly lady in Corvallis knitting on a park bench near the river. She did most of the talking and told me more about knitting and doll doctors than I cared to know. But as I affirmed and acknowledged her as she spoke, I oberved her smile growing wider. At some point, expereincing her joy overshadowed the continuing knitting stories. After 30 minutes we parted and it felt much more like leaving an old friend than a new aquiantance.
